Meet Storm, Echo, Bloom and Tide

Update, September 2, 2026. Two of the four names below have changed. The official Yakkapedia and airdrop table now run Storm / Echo / Ghost / Bloom: the 251–500 monster this article calls Bloom is now Ghost, and the 501–2,000 monster it calls Tide is now Bloom. The team says the monsters and their boosts are unchanged — the names were swapped to match their types. The utilities are also published now: Storm makes Yakkamon within range work 2× as fast (large AOE), Echo doubles the resources of those within range (small AOE), Ghost keeps those within range at maximum stamina (small AOE), and Bloom regenerates a share of its Max HP every combat turn. The founding Legendary monsters have names. Yakkamon has published the four Genesis Legendaries — and with them, the detail that makes the August 12 ladder change finally legible.

To be precise about what the airdrop is: Monster NFTs go to the top 5,000 trainers on points. The top 2,000 of those receive a Genesis Legendary; ranks 2,001–5,000 receive a Rare Egg. It totals 5,010 Monster NFTs across 5,000 trainers, because the top ten receive two.

Storm is the one that matters

Storm is new, and it sits above everything else. The team describes it as the newest monster in the set and the hardest to earn — the only way to be airdropped one is to finish in the top 50. The top 10 receive Storm and a second Genesis Legendary alongside it.

That’s a meaningful shift. Until now the position was that the Legendaries are equal in power and differ in species and role. Storm is the exception, and it gives the top of the leaderboard a real gradient where ranks 1 and 99 used to receive an identical reward.

Twice as many Legendaries

Legendary monsters used to stop at rank 1,000. They now run to rank 2,000. A thousand trainers who were in line for a Rare Egg now receive Tide, a Genesis Legendary. Total Legendary supply went from about 1,000 to about 2,010.

Nobody moved down

Echo is the monster that was previously Legendary Egg A, Bloom was Egg B, Tide was Egg C — each with its utility lifted. Storm was added above the ladder rather than pushing anyone down it. Checked band by band, 1,200 ranks improved, 3,800 held their slot, and none moved down.

We got this wrong first time. Our August 12 analysis read “Rare Egg A” at ranks 501–2,000 as a tier below Legendary, and concluded that supply had halved and 500 trainers had lost out. The names show that band receives Tide, a Legendary. The full correction →

You have to hold the rank, not just reach it

One detail in the official write-up deserves more attention than it’s getting. The airdrop settles when the leaderboard locks — and the team’s wording is that you have to earn your rank and hold it until that moment. Once it locks, the airdrop is closed for good.

So a position inside the top 2,000 today is not a position you own. It’s one you’re currently occupying, and others are still climbing.

Late to pre-registration? You are not locked out. The team says so directly: because the leaderboard is points-based, a trainer who signs up today and plays daily can pass someone who signed up on day one and stopped showing up. There is no sale and no buying your way in — every position is earned on points.

What we still don’t know

Update, August 14. The lock now has a position in the sequence: the official Important Dates page puts it one week before early access launch, with rewards sent three days later and launch itself in November or December. The full schedule →

Monster utilities land in September. What these creatures actually do — battle, farm utility, or something else — is unpublished, and “utility lifted” is the team’s description rather than something anyone can verify yet.

The one number that changed for planning: the Legendary line moved from rank 1,000 to rank 2,000. If you were treating a Legendary as out of reach, it’s twice as reachable as it was.
