The Yakkamon team has raised the bar for what counts as a valid referral. Your first five referrals still pay instantly — from the sixth onward, your friend must do all three of these before the points land: verify their Discord, verify their Twitter/X, and reach 100 points in their trainer dashboard. A sign-up on its own no longer pays.
Why it changed
Referral codes spread fast enough overnight to cause scaling problems, and in reviewing the surge the team found 4,783 accounts that had signed up using temporary-domain email addresses as part of a referral farming operation. Those accounts have been banned.
The 100-point requirement is the fix. It keeps the reward pointed at trainers who bring in real players, and makes bulk code-spamming worthless. The team also flagged that email codes and X connections were failing under load, with a fix rolling out.
What it means in practice
Referrals still pay 30 points each and they're still uncapped. Referrals 1–5 are unaffected and land the moment your friend signs up. Beyond that, the work no longer ends at sign-up — and the 100-point step is the slow one, so here's how long it takes:
- Verify Discord — link a Discord account to their trainer profile.
- Verify Twitter/X — link an X account to their trainer profile.
- Reach 100 points in their trainer dashboard.

The one-time quests are the fast route: link a wallet, connect X, join the Discord and post five times is 55 points before they've nurtured once.
What to do differently
Stop treating a sign-up as the finish line. The highest-value thing you can do now is help the people you refer actually get started — send them the quest list, tell them to nurture daily, and check in during their first week.
The rest of the rules are unchanged
Referrals are still reviewed before rewards are finalized, so the points stay provisional until then. These still don't count:
- Unverified accounts — sign-ups that never complete verification.
- Multi-accounting — alt accounts, throwaway or temporary-domain emails, shared devices and wallets.
- Bots and automation — bulk or scripted sign-ups.
- Inactive sign-ups — accounts created purely to farm a bonus, with no real activity. The 100-point rule now enforces this automatically.
