On September 8 the Yakkamon team added a page to the official docs that the free mint had been missing since the waves were announced: what “Wave 3 — the Ronin Wave” actually is. Until now the whole description was one line in a table — 2,000 mints on September 16 for active Ronin gamers, on a list the Ronin team was building. The new page says the Yakkamon team went on-chain and built the list themselves, names the five games it looked at, publishes the counts, explains the scoring, and links to candidate lists you are meant to search for your own wallet.

This is the one wave of the five that has nothing to do with the Yakkamon leaderboard. No rank, no snapshot position and no $FLOWER deposit are required — and none of them help. It is decided entirely by what your Ronin wallet did in other games over the last three months. Here is what the page says, the arithmetic it leaves to the reader, and what to do about it in the two days before the lists are finalized on September 10.

Update, September 10. You no longer need the CSVs. The official checker at yakkamon.com/whitelist takes a 0x or ronin: address and lists the waves it is whitelisted for, the Ronin Wave included. The page also gives the wave an opening time — September 16 at 08:00 UTC (4:00 AM New York, 4:00 PM Manila) — and lists Sunflower Land among the six games, so the “coming soon” SFL list is in. Everything below stands as written on September 8. The announcement →
The candidate lists cannot be opened yet. Every list link on the official page points to a GitHub repository, sunflower-land/yakkamon-docs, that returned “page not found” when I checked at 14:00 UTC on September 8 — from three different routes. Either the repository is still private or the files are not up. The page says the lists were “published early so you can check yourself”, so this is presumably a slip that will be fixed; I will update this line when they open. In the meantime, everything below still tells you whether you are likely to be on them.

The five games, and what counted

The team was specific about which on-chain signals it read in each game, and the list tells you a lot about who the wave is really for. Only activity that leaves a trace on the Ronin chain counts; anything that happens on a game’s own servers is invisible to this method, and the page says so.

GameWhat the team countedWallets foundShare of the raw pool
Axie InfinityAtia’s Blessing activations (the daily check-in), holding Mystic Axies, buying and selling on the Axie marketplace, any Axie NFT transfer20,04045%
Craft WorldDynoCoin (COIN) activity on Katana only — the team’s reasoning is that every material trade routes through it14,42232%
Pixels$PIXEL staking and claiming (Pixels and Pixel Dungeons), holding or trading Farm Land, holding or trading Pets4,2479%
RonkeverseHolding or trading Ronkeverse NFTs, $RONKE token activity3,6588%
MokuHolding or trading Moki Genesis NFTs — Grand Arena entries are not read yet2,3545%
Sunflower LandNot published yet. Expected: active farming on a Ronin farm in the same window, $FLOWER activity on Ronin, holding collectibles, Bumpkins and Farm NFTs, marketplace trades

The five game counts add up to 44,721; the page gives 42,730 after removing wallets that appear in more than one game. Shares are of the raw total and are my arithmetic.

Two things stand out. Axie and Craft World between them are more than three-quarters of the pool, so this is, in practice, an Axie-and-Craft-World wave with three smaller games attached. And Pixels — by most measures one of the larger games on the chain — supplies fewer than one candidate in ten, because the thing most Pixels players pay for, VIP, is bought from an in-game balance and never touches the chain. The team says as much. If you are a Pixels player who never staked, never held Land and never held a Pet, you are not in this snapshot, however many hours you put in.

How the score works, in plain terms

The page describes the ranking method rather than publishing the formula, and the description is enough to know where you stand. Turning up on different days is the biggest input: the number of active days across the 90-day window outweighs everything else. Each signal is weighted and capped per day, so a hundred trades on one afternoon score like one busy day, not a hundred. Wallets that show up in more than one game are sorted to the top of the combined list. Wallets with bot-like patterns — automated flipping, spam — stay in the files, flagged, but rank last; custodial, guild and escrow wallets holding large positions for other people are discounted; contracts of any kind and a batch of sybil wallets with no history are excluded outright.

The practical reading is simple. A wallet that did one thing in one game on sixty different days is in a far stronger position than a wallet that did sixty things on one day. Holding an NFT without transacting for three months shows as zero active days and a low score — the page warns about exactly this. And there is nothing to be done about any of it now: the window ended on September 8, and the Sunflower Land pull uses the same window. Unlike Waves 2 and 4, where a five-$FLOWER deposit made before September 10 still gets you on the list, the Ronin Wave cannot be farmed at the last minute. That is a good design, and it is also the reason the only sensible action left is checking.

The arithmetic the page doesn’t do

The headline number is the gap between candidates and spots. 42,730 wallets are in the running for 2,000 places — one in twenty-one, or under 5% — and that is before the Sunflower Land list and the Ronin team’s own whitelist are added on top. Being a candidate is not close to being whitelisted, which is why the page is careful to say so twice.

The second number is hiding in the dedup. The five game counts sum to 44,721 and the deduplicated total is 42,730, a difference of 1,991. That difference is the number of extra game entries belonging to wallets that appear in more than one list — so the number of multi-game wallets is somewhere between about 500 (if they all play all five) and 1,991 (if they each play exactly two). Now put that next to the rule that cross-game players sort to the top of the mega list. If the final 2,000 are cut from the top of that list, the multi-game wallets could fill the majority of the wave by themselves, and a single-game player — even the most active Axie account on the chain — would be competing for whatever is left. My reading: playing two of these games in the last 90 days is worth more than any amount of activity in one.

“2,000 spots” can mean two different things, and the page doesn’t say which. If the whitelist itself is cut to 2,000 wallets for a 2,000 supply, then the Ronin Wave is effectively a second guaranteed wave: everyone on the final list gets one, at their own pace, like Wave 1. If the whitelist is larger than the supply, it is a click race like Waves 2, 4 and 5, and being on the list only earns you the right to be fast on the 16th. The phrasing — a “final cut” made from the lists, plus “strong position, not a guarantee” — reads to me like the first, but the second is how every other non-guaranteed wave works. Assume the race until the team says otherwise.

A third point is about ordering. Wave 3 sits between the two trainer waves, so it takes its 2,000 out of the collection before Wave 4 opens. If Waves 1, 2 and 3 all sell out, Wave 4 starts with 4,000 left for a bracket of up to 20,000 trainers, and Wave 5 may open to nothing. That was already true in the wave table; the new page just makes it more likely that Wave 3 really does sell out, because 42,730 candidates is a lot of demand for 2,000 free NFTs.

How to check, once the lists open

The official instructions are short and worth following exactly, because most of the ways to get this wrong are about address format rather than eligibility.

  1. Open the mega list first. It is one row per wallet, showing which games the wallet was found in, how many, and the score in each. The five per-game files are ranked versions of the same data. The links are on the official Ronin Wave page.
  2. Search for your Ronin address in lowercase 0x… form. Not the ronin: form the Ronin Wallet shows you by default. Copy the address, convert it to lowercase, and use your browser’s find (Ctrl or Cmd + F).
  3. Read the columns. rank is your position in that file, lower is better; score is how active you were, higher is better; active_days_90d is the number of days you were on-chain in the window; in the mega list, games and games_count show where you were picked up. Everything after that is the raw signal counts.
  4. Craft World players: check the right wallet. Craft World creates an embedded smart wallet for you, and that may be the address that did the on-chain work — not the Ronin Wallet address you would mint from. The team says it is still working out how those map. Check your Ronin Wallet address, and if your activity sits under a different one, that is a problem to raise with them before the 10th.
  5. Check again before September 10. The page says the lists may be updated before they are finalized, and the Sunflower Land list is not in them yet.

On the day itself, the Ronin Wave works like every other wave: connect the wallet that appears on the list — the same one, not another you own — to the Ronin Launchpad, keep some RON in it for gas, and mint when the wave opens. If you also qualify through the trainer leaderboard, you can mint in those waves too. Mint day, step by step →

If you are a Yakkamon trainer

Nothing about your rank changes. The Ronin Wave does not touch the trainer snapshot on September 10, and it does not touch the Genesis airdrop leaderboard either, which keeps running until one week before early access. What it does is add a route: if the Ronin wallet you linked to Yakkamon was also active in one of the five games, you can mint in Wave 3 in addition to whatever your rank gives you. A top-1,000 trainer with five $FLOWER deposited and an active Axie account could mint in Waves 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 — five hidden Yakkamon from one wallet.

Two cautions. The wallet that appears on the Ronin Wave list must be the wallet that mints; if your Ronin gaming lives in one wallet and your Yakkamon account is linked to another, decide now which one the Wave 3 mint should come from, because the page ties eligibility to the address, not the account. And the 250 pre-registration points the mint earns are a trainer reward, credited to a linked account — the page does not say whether a Wave 3 mint from an unlinked wallet earns them, so I would not count on it.

If you are a Sunflower Land player

You have the best odds of anyone reading this, and the least to check today. The team says Sunflower Land players are getting their own place in the wave, and that the list is being pulled now and will be published before the lists finalize. What it expects to count is what active players already do: farming on a Ronin farm over the same 90 days, moving $FLOWER on Ronin, holding collectibles, Bumpkins or Farm NFTs, and trading on the marketplace. If your farm has been on Polygon rather than Ronin, or you have been away since June, this is the thing to check when the list lands.

You also have a second route that the other four games’ players do not: the $FLOWER you earn in Sunflower Land is the same token that unlocks Waves 2 and 4 of this mint. A verified Yakkamon account with five $FLOWER deposited before September 10 is on the list for Wave 2 and Wave 4 regardless of the Ronin Wave — and a deposit of any size also earns leaderboard points. Deposit on Ronin, and the wallet is ready for both →

Not on any list?

Then the Ronin Wave is not for you, and there is no way in through it. The route that remains is the trainer one, and the deadline is the same September 10: pre-register (that link carries my code YAKKA-UDBVPX), verify the account, and deposit at least five $FLOWER on Base or Ronin. That puts a trainer of any rank inside 20,000 on the list for Wave 4, and inside 10,000 for Wave 2 as well; the top 50,000 are in Wave 5 with no deposit at all. The five $FLOWER is not a fee — the official page describes it as a sybil check, fully withdrawable or spendable once the game is live. The pre-snapshot checklist →

What I’d say about the design

When I graded the free-mint stream I gave the Ronin Wave a B and wrote that I would have liked the list criteria published, and that the list was someone else’s. Both complaints are now partly answered. The criteria are on the page, the candidate files are meant to be public, the method discounts the professionalized airdrop-farming wallets I worried about, and the list is mostly the Yakkamon team’s own work with the Ronin team’s whitelist added rather than the other way round. Publishing 42,730 candidate addresses before finalizing them is more transparency than most launchpad mints offer, and it is the same instinct that puts the trainer leaderboard on a public board.

What I would still push on. Craft World is measured by one proxy — token activity on a DEX — which is a good read on trading and only an indirect read on play; a wallet that only ever swapped COIN looks the same as one that mined it. Axie is measured partly by marketplace activity and NFT transfers, which is where flippers live, so the bot-discounting has to carry a lot of weight there. The “2,000 spots” ambiguity above matters to everyone on the list and is one sentence to fix. And the links being dead on the day the page went up, two days before the lists are finalized, cuts the checking window in half for the people it was published for. None of that changes the grade; it does mean the wave is better designed than the stream made it sound.

One earlier note I can now retire. I had speculated that the free mint’s separate 1,500-NFT drop might go to top Ronin spenders — which would have made this mega list worth checking even for people who never intend to mint. The docs have since clarified those 1,500 are hidden eggs handed out at special events before the reveal, with no spender or ecosystem criteria, so that link does not hold: the mega list is only about the Wave 3 mint. What the 1,500 actually are →

The five questions I’d put to the team

  • Is the final whitelist cut to 2,000 wallets for the 2,000 supply, making Wave 3 a guaranteed mint for those on it — or is the list larger than the supply?
  • Do Sunflower Land players and the Ronin team’s whitelist take a fixed share of the 2,000, or do all three sources compete on one merged ranking?
  • Does a Wave 3 mint from a wallet with no linked Yakkamon account earn the 250 pre-registration points, and can it be linked afterward?
  • How will Craft World embedded wallets be mapped to Ronin Wallet addresses, and by when?
  • Will the candidate lists be republished when they are finalized on September 10, so people can see whether they made the cut before the 16th?

Source and standing. The wave rules, game list, wallet counts, scoring description and caveats are from the official Wave 3 — The Ronin Wave page and the Free Mint page on docs.yakkamon.com, summarized in my words. The pool shares, the overlap arithmetic, the two readings of “2,000 spots”, the now-retired spender-split guess and every recommendation are mine and are not endorsed by anyone. The dead-link finding is as of 14:00 UTC on September 8; I will correct this page as soon as the lists open or the team clarifies the cut.
